Christine Contzen
Christine Contzen's paintings are inventions that show the real world only as the essence of her perception. In her series of works, she examines chaos and order, serial works, patterns, and structure, whereby structure gives stability to chaos and serves as a benchmark. She works with grids, layering, and superimposition, examining the weighting and significance of colors, patterns, and surfaces and relating them to each other. The history of this search is legible in the picture, visible in windows and views that allow insights into the creation of the works. This creates a network of transparencies and insights – a room with a view.
