Etienne Lafrance
Etienne Lafrance works primarily with collage, which is at the core of his artistic practice – both formally and thematically. Between painting and photography, he develops a visual language that makes the dissolution or extension of reality visible. Starting from analog black-and-white photographs from the darkroom, he explores the connection between collage, painting, pop-up, and sculpture. His works create an abstract, legible visual language that refers to photographic and painterly origins and explores the possibilities and limitations of both media.
