In her painting, Luisa Bahl explores the atmosphere of places – in landscapes, figurative depictions, and still lifes. At the core is the subjective, emotional perception of her surroundings. In her current project, she dedicates herself to plein air painting, where working on location creates an immediate connection to light, weather, and mood. Bahl finds her inspiration in everyday scenes: in the play of sunlight on leaves, in the complementary contrast of colors, or in the interplay of textures, materials, and moods.

She is particularly fascinated by dynamic compositions in nature, such as obliquely growing or fallen trees that create movement and tension. These unplanned arrangements of color and form often serve as the starting point for her works.
