Wei Zhu
Wei Zhu's practice is narrative painting, focusing on the fluidity of identity. She understands painting as a temporal process: Each finished work marks both an end and a continuation; past and future remain in constant negotiation.
Having grown up in China and later moved to Germany, her exploration of identity is shaped by cultural ruptures and unstable forms of belonging. Through partial self-portraits and fragmented imagery, she articulates identity narratives that extend beyond the personal, reflecting broader conditions of Asian female migration.
